It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

by Notorious Spinks on 04.03.2011

whatareyoureadingIt’s Monday! What Are You Reading, hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I’m reading Jane Eyre .  I will be reading this one for a while.  The Prissy Book Snob & I are reading it and chatting about it on Fridays.  This week we’ll chat about chapter 4-10.  So far I love this book…oh Jane…

I should finish True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself by Janet Jackson this week along with a couple of others.

I finished The Freedom Writers Diary : How a Teacher and 150 Teens Used Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them by The Freedom Writers and wrote the review.  It should be posted one day this week.  I also read Nerdy Thirty by Wendy Townley. It was a quick read with only 97 pages. I’ll post this review this week as well.

So what are you reading?

I so loved Freedom Writers Diary! And nice job on Jane Eyre… she and I do not see eye to eye but I constantly try to read her… 🙂

Oh and Angie’s comment here – she is a wonderful part of the same book club I am in and we do read a classic every October to try to give us some culture… lol… not sure if it works but we do have fun with the review!

Jane Eyre, read it ages ago, but with the new film and all, I really should re-read it. I wonder, what is Janet Jackson’s book like?
I’ll be reading this Julie Orringer’s The Invisible Bridge (longlisted for the Orange Prize) about the Holocaust, and another part of 2666 (quite creepy, this week’s about the murders).
Have a great week!

It looks like you’ve got a nice reading week planned. I just finished Jane Eyre in December and I’m already contemplating reading it again. I hope your Monday goes well.

I am not a classics lover (gasp!) Our book club does a classic read every October and so far I’ve not been impressed. That being said, my all-time favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. What I really want to say is I admire people who read classics when they don’t have to.
