I remember when I was 7 years old, and my Mother came into my room to put me to bed. In her hand she carried a book. She sat down on my Barbie comforter on the edge of my bed, and said that it was now time for me to start reading before I went to bed at night. She gave me a book which was entitled Matilda by Roald Dahl. My face held an expression of perplexity as I examined the book, with what seemed like an endless amount of words and no pictures inside. I opened the book and devoured it within three days! That moment marked the beginning of my love affair with books and reading. As I grew older, I gained an insatiable passion for literature.
For the past few years, I have gained an increased desire to develop a book blog. However, I felt that I did not have the proper knowledge and tools to create one. It would be such a blessing to attend the Blogging While Brown conference, to not only gain knowledge, but to defeat my fear and insecurity with creating a book blog.
Thank you Notorious for passing this opportunity and blessing to others, and thank you for your consideration.
P.S. I do not have a Twitter account, and I hope it will not damper my chances at winning.
Many thanks,
-Babydoll

Well…the reason I want to attend Blogging While Brown is twofold. The first half has to do with all of the good things I’ve heard about the conference. Listening to you speak in this video as well as reading testimonials from folks recapping last year’s conference inspired me sooo much. Unfortunately, my pockets aren’t as easily inspired as my spirit, so here we go there we go. The second part is that I want to get this blogging thing crackalackin’ for real & the networking opportunities would be AMAZEBALLS. As of now I live in a little bubble where I update the blog every now and again with a modest following. I’d like to learn more about blogging from the groundfloor to be able to expand my brand, so to speak. It’d be nice to put to use this degree for which I’m *still* paying!

Hi Spinks!

First, congrats on the upcoming graduation!

Second, I really want to attend BWB this year because I didn’t make the most of the conference when I attended for the first time, last year. I’m a fairly quiet person and had never been to conference before. I went to Blogalicious several months later and it really broke the ice for me; I opened up and met some great people. So this time around, with BWB, I want to be more outspoken, less like a wallflower and network with others. Also, it looks like this will be another year of great panels that I don’t want to miss. Plus, I’ve never been to LA before, so attending this year’s BWB is a big deal for me, lol. And last, winning a free registration will chop down the cost of this trip immensely and it would be great if I could save money on this trip.

That’s why I want to attend BWB this year =)
